MEB - MySQL Enterprise Backup

MEB - MySQL Enterprise Backup:
Backup using backup command:
#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--user=<id> \
--password=<code> \
--socket=/mysql/mysql.sock \
--backup-dir=/mysql/mysql-backup-dir-`date +'%F_%H-%M-%S'` backup

it will create directory
/mysql/mysql-backup-dir-`date +'%F_%H-%M-%S'` --> backup the database in directory /datadir which resides inside the /mysql/mysql-backup-dir....
Backup and apply log:

Add following connection id, code, and socket in /etc/my.cnf file
[mysqlbackup]
host=localhost
user=<id>
password=<code>
socket=/mysql/mysql.sock

#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--backup-dir=/mysql/mysql-backup-dir-`date +'%F_%H-%M-%S'` backup-and-apply-log

Command will create directory /mysql/mysql-backup-dir... --> backup the database --> Restore database in datadir which is inside /mysql/mysql-backup-dir
Note: Backups created with the --skip-unused-pages option cannot be restored using copy-back-and-apply-log.
Ref. https://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-enterprise-backup/8.0/en/backup-commands-restore.html

Backup to image - backup in one file with compression:
#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--backup-dir=/tmp/tmp-backup-dir-`date +'%F_%H-%M-%S'` \
--backup-image=/mysql/backup/`hostname`.<db_name>.mbi_$(date '+%d%b_%H%M%S') backup-to-image --compress

Backup to image - backup in one file :
#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--backup-dir=/tmp/backup-dir-`date +'%F_%H-%M-%S'` \
--backup-image=/mysql/bakcup/
`hostname`.<db_name>.mbi_$(date '+%d%b_%H%M') backup-to-image
Backup to image - backup in one file date format different :
#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--backup-dir=/tmp/mts-backup-`date +'%F_%H:%M:%S'` \
--backup-image=/mysql/backup/`hostname`.<db_name>.mbi_$( date +'%F_%H:%M:%S') backup-to-image
Restore:

01. Stop mysql daemon - #systemctl stop mysqld
02. Rename existing datadir
03. Create new datadir with same name
04. Execute following command to restore datadir from image backup
05. Make sure to check datadir and files are owned by user - mysql, if not execute
#chown -R mysql:mysql /<datadir_name>
#/bin/mysqlbackup \
--backup-dir=/mysql/restore \
--backup-image=/mysql/backup/<backup.image_file_name> \
 copy-back-and-apply-log

#### Backup Incremental

/bin/mysqlbackup \
--incremental --incremental-base=history:last_backup \
--backup-dir=/tmp/mts-backup-`date +'%F_%H:%M:%S'` \
--backup-image=/mysql/backup/`hostname`.mts.incremental_image1.bi_$(date '+%d%b_%H%M%S') backup-to-image --compress

Note: backup-dir has to be empty, and datadir has to be empty to restore the database.
